Air Condition Service – Dog Days are Here

Dog Days are Here – Maintain Your Car’s Air Conditioner

With the arrival of the Dog Days of Summer now is the time to have your automobile’s air conditioning system serviced or repaired. There is good news. Most vehicles will only need a simple recharge to maintain the critical lubricant levels that are vital to the health of the AC system. This is why it is important to have your air conditioning system serviced at least every other year.

Major air condition repairs can be costly.  However, most costly repairs can be avoided with regular maintenance. Just like you car’s engine needs oil, so does your air conditioning system. At the heart of the system is  the compressor. This is the most critical part because it not only is one of the few moving parts of the system, but it moves at blinding rate. Air compressors can turn a maximum of between 6,000 and 10,000 RPM’s and average around 3,500 RPM’s. This is one and a half times faster than the rate of the engine. Therefore, lubrication is critical.

Because the AC system is completely sealed, the only way to maintain critical lubrication is to have it serviced by a certified repair facility. EPA regulations also have strict requirements and regulations for the repair and maintenance of any systems that use refrigerant. Unfortunately the days of do it yourself are gone when comes to air conditioning. It requires expensive equipment to recirculate and maintain the refrigerant. However, we at All American Auto & Electric do our absolute best to keep those cost to a minimum and passing those savings along to you.

Bring your car or truck to us to perform an AC checkup to keep you cool during the hottest days of the summer. If your AC system is not currently working, let us work up a free estimate. All service and repair is back by our 12 month/12,000 mile warranty.
